If you want to avoid that in your projects and deliver a smooth experience to your users, you'll have to think performance. Thankfully, that's exactly what this workshop is all about! Learn how browsers work, how to measure performance, what common bottlenecks you should avoid and put your new knowledge immediately into practice.

Nowadays Web development is much more than just hacking HTML code — it is a complete process of creating fresh-looking modern visuals that attract attention from the first glance. During the Polymer workshop, you will get a chance to touch the future of Web development right now — starting from simple Web Components and up to building a complete Web page using Paper elements.

Task
Redesign existing app to Material Design. You’ll have 8 hours to implement redesigned UI for one of the proposed applications. No need to develop whole app, only UI with mock data.

- Apps proposed for redesign will be announced on the hackathon
- Max number of participants: 10 teams
- Max team size: 3 people
- Demo duration: 300 seconds
- You have to bring your own laptop
- Winners are selected by independent jury
- Winners will be announced on Saturday during GDG Awards — all hackathon participants are invited!
